Company Profile
Battlefield Service Center is a family owned and operated business serving Manassas, Prince
William County and Northern Virginia. James and Suzanne Dowell founded Battlefield in 1973
as a complete auto and light truck repair shop and towing service. Through the years, Battlefield has thrived on
personalized service, which means getting to know their customers,
their cars and their driving habits. They are service oriented and believe in regular
preventive maintenance to find any possible problems before they become costly problems. Battlefield Service Center
is a member of the Prince William Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce. James Dowell is founder and President of the
Virginia Association of Towing and Recovery Operations (VATRO) and is also a member of (TRAA), the Towing and Recovery Association of America.
Battlefield
Service Center is a Safety Inspection Center and Emissions Repair Center. They recommend genuine manufacturer
parts for your repairs and only use top of the line products such as INTERSTATE batteries,
KENDALL and CASTRO
motor oils and top line tires such as MICHELIN and
GOODYEAR. Battlefield believes in working for and doing business with the community.

Historical Note
So why the name
"Battlefield" Service Center? Battlefield Service Center began as
Battlefield Texaco, located next to the National Battlefield Park on Sudley
Road in Manassas, Virginia. Mel Johnson, who opened Battlefield Texaco in
1973, asked Jim Dowell to manage the operation. Eventually, they created a
partnership that included Battlefield Texaco, Battlefield Service Center and
Battlefield Towing. The three companies served Western Prince William
County. In the
late 1980's, they sold the Texaco station to concentrate on repairs
and towing. When Mel retired, Jim took over with the support of his,
Suzanne, and their two boys. Battlefield Service Center has been a
"family owned and operated" business ever since. BSC was chosen
by Washingtonian Magazine four years in a row as having the
"Highest Quality Rating".
